National Minimum Wage Order published

The Order to give effect to an increase in the National Minimum Wage was signed by the Hon. Minister of Labour, Joseph Hamilton, on 24 June 2022. The new rates, which are applicable to all categories of workers, comes into effect on 1 July 2022.

The Order also limits the normal work week to 40 hours or 5 days, requiring overtime to be paid where actual time exceeds these limits.

The rates were previously increased in 2016, with an effective date of 1 January 2017.
